Scam of the day: "State Record Retrieval Board"

Trying to get me to pay $87.00 for deed info.

in Minnesota, they list their address as:

1043 Grand Avenue #361
Saint Paul, MN 55105

Unknown said...: The same thing happened to me in Michigan. the letter's delivery address is to "State Record Retrieval Board" with the address 3105 S. Martin Luther King Blvd. #126 Lansing MIchigan 48910. the amount was for $87.00 with a deadline to mail it. After I mailed it, I tried to google the address and it is not listed! What kills me is that they even have a "due date" after which you would be required to pay additional money.
I wander how many people fall for this and why the LAW doesn't take care of these people.

Shan said...: It's a total scam!! I almost mailed my payment until I noticed the note that the company did not represent a branch of government or service thereof. I questioned how a non-governmental agency could get me a copy of my deed and why it cost so much.

I did some research and found out that the address listed belongs to a Mailboxes Etc. location...IT'S A PO BOX!!!; Sunday, May 22, 2011
